今回はレビューのご紹介第３回目です。

今年のレビューのご紹介はこれで最終回となります。

さて、今回ご紹介するのは、とても素敵な文章で私も楽しく読ませていただいた、「アクセプトハウス」のお施主さまのレビューです。

 

『英語でコミニュケーションが可能な建築家を夫が探していて、TAIMATSUさんと巡り合ったのが依頼のきっかけでした。お会いする前にホームページで過去のお仕事などを拝見したら、素敵な住宅に加えてキャンプ場や牛小屋(！)まで設計されているではないですか。これはおもしろい人達に違いないと迎えた最初の打ち合わせ。気さくなお二人の人柄、ジャム作り(TAIMATSU製甘夏ジャム美味しい!)に山登りと共通の趣味も見つけ、この人達で間違いなしと決めました。

家造りにおいては、なるべく細々部屋を仕切ったりせず、広くて解放的な空間が希望でした。
決して広い敷地ではなくしかも変形的な土地でしたが、見事に私達の要望する空間を実現してくれましたし、それは想像以上でした。特に1階は高い天井と間仕切りのない空間、庭へ繋がる窓辺、通り抜ける風、キッチンに浮かぶターコイズブルー、明るい玄関、大好きな場所です。猫も内と外の曖昧さを日々堪能しているようです。

3階は第2のリビングのようでもあり、ある日はゲストルームとして、ある日は物作りの場所として、流星群予報の夜にはテラスに寝そべったり、と柔軟性のある場として大変重宝しています。完成する前は「3階なんて滅多に行かないんじゃないか、ただの物置き部屋になるのでは」と少し心配していましたが、それは全くの杞憂でした。

元々ゲストが多い我が家でしたが、新居ではさらに多くの人を迎えられるようになりました。夫の故国では誰かを家に泊めたり反対に泊まらせてもらう事が多く、親戚だったり、友人だったり、知り合いの知り合いだったり、うちもその東京拠点になれたらいいなと思っていたのですが、その目論みは叶い、すでに何人も何組も泊まっていってくれました。何度でも言いますが東京下町の狭小地でそれが叶うのはやはり設計の力だと思います。10人位で食卓を囲んでも圧迫感なしです。

建築中の仮住まいが海外でしたが、メールやLINEメッセージはもちろん、しょっ中お電話くださったり、ZOOMで意見交わしたりと納得行くまでお話しできました。最初のヒアリングから始まり、その後話し合いを重ねる過程で、私達の好み、どんなふうにこれまで暮らしてきて、そして新しい家ではどんな暮らしをしたいのか、そんなことごとをいつのまにかしっかり掴みとってくれて、おそらく自分達でも曖昧にしか把握できていなかったこと、あるいは思い描けていなかったことをカタチにしてくれました。

光も風も人も生き物も出入り自由という理想の家が建ちました。
TAIMATSUマジックで、街にもっと燈が灯されていくといいなあと思います。』

 

“My husband was looking for an architect who could communicate in English, and that’s how we came across TAIMATSU and decided to commission them to design our house. Before meeting them, I had a look at their past work on their website, and was surprised to see that in addition to beautiful homes, they had also designed campsites and cowsheds (!). I thought to myself that they must be interesting people, and so I went into our first meeting. They were both friendly people, and we shared a common hobby of making jam (TAIMATSU’s sweet orange jam is delicious!) and mountain climbing, so I knew I couldn’t go wrong with them and decided to commission them.

When building the house, we wanted a large, open space with as few rooms as possible separated. The lot was not particularly large and was irregular, but they were able to create the space we wanted, and it was even better than we imagined. The first floor in particular is my favorite place, with its high ceilings and open-plan space, the windows leading to the garden, the breeze that blows through, the turquoise blue floating in the kitchen, and the bright entrance. The cat also seems to enjoy the ambiguity of inside and outside every day.

The third floor is like a second living room, but one day it can be used as a guest room, another day as a place to make things, or on the night of a meteor shower, we can just lie down on the terrace. It’s a very useful and flexible space. Before it was completed, I was a little worried that we would rarely go to the third floor and that it would just become a storage room, but that was completely unfounded.

We always had a lot of guests in our home, but in our new home we can now welcome even more people. In my husband’s home country, we often hosted relatives, friends, and acquaintances at our house, and vice versa, so we thought it would be great if our house could become a base for them in Tokyo. That plan has come true, and we have already had many groups of people stay with us. As I have said many times before, I think it is the power of the design that makes this possible in such a small area in downtown Tokyo. There is no sense of oppression even when about 10 people gather around the table for dinner.

During construction, we lived in a temporary residence overseas, but they not only emailed us and sent us LINE messages, but also called us frequently and exchanged opinions over ZOOM until we were satisfied. From the first interview through to the discussion process, they thoroughly understood our preferences, how we had lived up until now, and even the kind of lifestyle we wanted in our new home, and they helped us to realize things that we had probably only vaguely grasped or had not even imagined.

We built the ideal home, where light, wind, people, and living things can freely enter and exit. I hope that the TAIMATSU magic will help light up the town even more.”

私はこのプロジェクトに直接関わってはいなかったのですが、竣工や写真撮影の際に見学に伺わせていただきました。

写真撮影はお施主さまが暮らし始めてから半年ほどのタイミングだったのですが、素敵で使い心地も良さそうな家具たちが入り、お施主さまのお好きな動物や昆虫のモチーフの小物がお家の至る所に散りばめられていて、とても楽しい空間になっていました。

私の特にお気に入りの空間はこの水回り。

必要以上に長居したくなるような気持ちの良い空間です。

写真撮影が終わった夕方の帰り道、振り返るとアクセプトハウスの灯りがきらきらと輝いて見えました。

きっとこれからも楽しい小物が増えて、来客も増えて、賑やかなお家になっていくのだろうと思います。
